The piece in detail
A two-bay brick locomotive shed, each bay closed by a large arch, with buttressed walls, tall cross-barred windows, smoke vents on the roof and an ornate ridge cresting. Beside it, the brick chimney on its plinth and a small annex building.
It is the depot piece par excellence: two tracks enter, a steam or diesel locomotive fits comfortably, and the interior lends itself to detailing, inspection pit, benches, lighting. It connects to a turntable as well as to a simple fan of tracks.
