The piece in detail
An elevated signal box, of the kind found at the entrance of a depot: a dressed-stone base, a middle floor with a door served by an outside staircase, and at the top the widely glazed operating room under an overhanging roof. The name LYON · MOUCHE and the POSTE 1 sign stand out in relief on the facade, ready for paint, or for your own markings.
Designed at the workshop in the spirit of the Lyon depot of La Mouche, it copies no existing building. It sits at the edge of a yard or at the foot of a bridge, and its small footprint finds room on an already crowded layout. The glazing of the upper room shows the interior: optional LED lighting gives it full presence at night.
Every copy is 3D printed, assembled, painted and weathered by hand in the workshop, in Lyon.
